Dan Mihu a absolvit Facultatea de Fizică din București în 1995, cu specializarea Fizica Atomului și Moleculei. Astrofizică. În perioada 1999-2003 a ocupat poziția de redactor-șef al revistei Știință și tehnică, încercînd relansarea publicației într-un nou format grafic și editorial. În 2005 s-a alăturat echipei NanoSPRINT, pentru a edita prima enciclopedie electronică dedicată nanotuburilor de carbon. În 2006 a contribuit la realizarea emisiunii Descoperă lumea / Secolul XXI, realizată și difuzată de Realitatea TV. Din iulie 2006 este redactor coordonator al revistei FHM, susținînd - printre altele - rubrica de hardware.
